For quite some time now, the solar flux forecast has been the same. The projection shows 45 days of solar flux at 70, with no variation. Because there is so little sunspot activity, and I hope that any increase in predicted solar flux values may coincide with renewed sunspot activity. But this method hasn't worked out very well in the past year or so.
Wednesday night, March 25, the 10.7 cm flux forecast showed 70 for March 26-27, then bumping up to 72 for March 28-31, then back to 70 for all of April and beyond. This is not much increase in activity, but with such a quiet Sun for the past few years, we become sensitive to small changes, and even optimistic at times.
Thursday, March 26 the prediction was nearly the same, except with the solar flux of 72 lasting two more days, through April 2.
The forecasts are via http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/ftpmenu/index.html,

Contests for the Week
#13- 30th to 6th of April

Montana QSO Party PH,CW,DIGI RS(T), S/P/C or MT county http://www.fvarc.org/ Apr 4 0000Z - Apr 6 0000Z

3.5, 7 LZ Open 40 Meter Contest CW 6-digit serial and serial from previous QSO http://www.lzopen.com/
Apr 4 0000Z - Apr 4 0359Z

432, 5.7GEU EME Contest PH, CW TMO/RS(T) and "R" http://www.dubus.org/ May 31
Apr 4 0000Z - Apr 5 2400Z

1.8-28 QRP ARCI Spring QSO Party CW RST, S/P/C, power or QRP ARCI number http://www.qrparci.org/ 30 days
Apr 4 1200Z - Apr 5 2400Z 1.810,3.560,7.040,14.060,21.060,28.060

1.8-28 SP DX Contest PH, CW RS(T), serial or SP province http://www.spdxcontest/.
Apr 4 1500Z - Apr 5 1500Z

3.5-28 EA RTTY Contest DIGi RST, serial or EA province www.ure.es/contest
Apr 4 1600Z - Apr 5 1600Z

1.8-28 MO QSO Party PH CW RS(T), serial, MO county or S/P/C http://www.w0ma.org/ Jun 1
Apr 4 1800Z - Apr 5 2400Z CW 40 kHz from band edge; Phone--1.880,3.980,7.180,14.280,21.380,28.310.

1.8-28 50+ QCWA Spring QSO Party PH, CW, DIGI Call,year lic'd,name,QCWA chap or S/P/C www.qcwa.org/qso-party.htm 30 days
Apr 4 1800Z - Apr 5 1800Z

If You work a contest please make post about how you did or how you see the band during the week

DX NEWS

Word that NL8F will be active as E51COF for 14 days from Rarotonga Island through April 4th.
